Kilmartin Educational Services offers several subjects as an external subject. Kilmartin Educational Services has been offering submission of project coursework supervision since 2002. We currently offer Economics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Geography, Agricultural Science and Politics and Society.
Note: Kilmartin Educational Services both teaches the course and the Project. The actual examination must be sat at their own school.

The Research Study report will account for 20% of the total mark allocation. It will be pre submitted to the examining authority.
As is our current practice, coursework must be conducted under the supervision of the class teacher. The teacher monitors the progress of all aspects of Practical Coursework every week. This is to verify that the work is the candidate’s own individual work and to guarantee student equity.
Students must attend our History class in person for the duration of the project. The teacher divides the project in phases, with delivery dates that must be met. Students will draft and edit their research project with final submission due October 2023.
Criteria for selecting a suitable subject: Narrow focus; Primary and/or secondary sources; If available, at least one published work by a historian; Standard school textbook cannot be sources; Subject must be historically significant; Study of an individual or an event.
What is the document-based question section?
You will evaluate documents and answer questions based on that document and topic. Documents may be written (e.g., transcript of an TV interview) or visual (e.g., political cartoon).
Essay Topics
Students will study 4 essay topics throughout the duration of the course:
- Dictatorship and Democracy (DBQ)
- The Pursuit of Sovereignty and the Impact of Partition 1912-1949
- The United States and the world, 1945-1989
- Politics and Society in Northern Ireland, 1949-1993
Attendance is essential. Non-compliance with Kilmartin Educational Services stipulations will force Kilmartin Educational Services not to sign off on Project component of the examination.

Yes, please contact them to get this permission, it is mandatory. We require the registration form is signed by the school principal.

Can I attend this course solely online?
Answer 2:
This course is hybrid; however, this course requires onsite monitoring and supervision of coursework/project work.
Question 3:
How often are the classes, and how long?
Answer 3:
One hour fifteen minutes, every week. Mandatory onsite attendance for coursework. Classes continue to run during the holiday periods.

Do the students have access to course content?

Yes, all course content is accessible through Microsoft Teams where students can access with their log in details.

Can the students’ school, or the State Examinations Commission access and monitor project work?

Yes, to ensure inter-candidate equity and examinations integrity.

Do students sit in-house exams on a regular basis?

Yes, it is compulsory for students to sit the regular in-house assessments to monitor progress.
