August Intensive Preparation Courses

Our August Preparation Courses are exclusively designed by examiners for both Junior & Leaving Certificate students who will return to School in September 2018.

Each subject is studied for One Full Day and will cost €80 (Payment to be made to class teacher on the day of the course). Particular attention will be placed on a number of areas.

***Leaving Cert 2019 Oral Irish Preparation Course

"The summer Irish Oral revision course will cover all aspects of the Irish Oral: Fáiltiú, Dánta, Sraith Pictiúir and the Comhrá.

Students will understand how to maximise their marks for the poetry reading. They will also receive comprehensive, H1 Sraith Pictiúr answers along with H1 answers for the Comhrá aspect of the Irish Oral.

Tomás will ensure the students know what they need to do in order to achieve their full potential in the Irish Oral developing each student's confidence in the spoken word of Gaeilge throughout the week. Tomás Ó Madagáin is a State Examiner for the Irish Oral."

**LC Maths H Intensive Preparation:

Join Dr. Veronica Ryan on her week long courses preparing students for their LC Maths (H) exam in June 2019

  • Dates: Mon. 13th August to Fri. 17th August 2018
  • Time: 9.30am to 12.45pm each day
  • Teacher: Dr. Veronica Ryan
  • Topics: Line & Trigonometry ( no prior knowledge required)
  • Fee: €150

*3rd Maths H Intensive Preparation:

Join Alan O' Brien, one of Ireland's Top Maths Teachers for our Summer Maths Courses.

Students will have the option to attend the June or August Course. This course is designed to help students prepare for the Junior Cert Maths Honours Exam in June 2019.

  • Length of Course: 1 week. 3 hours per day for 5 days
  • Daily Schedule: 9.30am-12.45pm
  • Topics: 
    • Monday: Statistics & Probability
    • Tuesday: Geometry & Trigonometry
    • Wednesday: Numbers
    • Thursday: Algebra
    • Friday: Functions

Join Dr. Veronica Ryan on her week long courses preparing 6th class students for their journey into second level Maths

  • Dates: Mon. 13th August to Fri. 17th August 2018
  • Time: 1.30-4.50pm each day
  • Teacher: Dr. Veronica Ryan
  • Topics: IWord Problems (all strands) & Problem Solving
  • Fee: €150

General Information Pertaining to our August Courses:

The August Prep. Courses focus on what students need to know by:

  • Organising their preparation.
  • Reviewing the course content.
  • Reviewing marking schemes and the layout of the exam paper.
  • Managing their time wisely.
  • Students are required to bring an A4 folder and paper, Exam papers (available for free at this link! Click here.) Calculators and log tables for Maths/Science related subjects.

 

Daily Schedule:

  • Roll Call: 9:45am sharp
  • Class: 10:00am – 11:30am
  • Break: 11:30am – 11:45am
  • Class: 11:45am – 12:45pm
  • Lunch: 12:45pm – 1:45pm
  • Class: 1:45pm – 3:00pm
  • Break: 3:00pm – 3:15pm
  • Class: 3:15pm – 4:30pm

 

 

Other Information:

  • No allowances made for absenteeism.
  • Students are required to bring exam papers and an A4 refill pad. In the case of Maths and Science subjects, a calculator and Log tables shall be required.
  • Timetable is subject to change.

  • All courses are held in our Limerick college on 83 O’Connell Street, Limerick.
